Serving Alcohol Permit Test

Target Group

The Serving Alcohol Permit test is intended for restaurant industry personnel who are required to demonstrate the competence of a supervisor or deputy supervisor responsible for alcohol legislation, as required by the National Supervisory Authority for Social Welfare and Health (Valvira).

According to the law (1.3.2018), there must be a full-age (18 years) responsible person in each work shift. They are no longer subject to any special competence requirements, but instead require a certificate of competence in alcohol legislation (the so-called Serving Alcohol Permit).

The Serving Alcohol Permit test is intended for, for example, restaurant floor staff, including entrepreneurs or those intending to become entrepreneurs, as well as a competence test for job seekers to promote employment.

Price

Corporate customers and private individuals: €70/participant (incl. VAT 24%). VAAOkoulutus Oy will invoice the test after the test.

For VAAO students and high school and HAMK students studying at the Valkeakoski campus, the card/exam fee is €30. The fee must be paid before the test either to the account FI05 5494 0920 0177 30/OKOYFIHH (receipt required) or paid at the beginning of the training to the Väinölä (2nd floor) cafe cash desk. When paying to the account, the message field must include a note of the participant’s and training’s name, their own institution and field of study and a request to take the test in English.

Important information when arriving for the training

Arrive at the test according to your registration without a separate invitation unless the institution informs you of the cancellation of the training. The training will be held at Valkeakoski Vocational College, Vanhankyläntie 2, 37630 Valkeakoski, Väinölä: 2nd floor cafe/info lobby, from where the teacher/tester will direct you to the classroom.

Participants in the test must prove their identity with a valid ID (driver`s licence, passport or other document given by the government.)

Those who pass the test satisfactorily (85% correct) will be given a certificate of mastery of the regulations on serving alcohol. The test will also include questions about beverage knowledge.
